Energy Industry Professional and Project Management Specialist, City of Cape Town
Shane has more than 25years of experience in the energy industry, spanning across the electricity as well as the oil and gas sectors. The early part of his career was spent at Eskom, where he fulfilled various roles in the power system planning and operations arena, as well as project development. His transition to the oil and gas sector with a move to Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, followed by a two-year stint at energy giant Sasol. Shane then joined the City of Cape Town where he is currently tasked with the development of new power generation assets for the City, the implementation of the energy efficiency program as well as the rollout of the Independent Power Producers Procurement program. Shane holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, and a Master in Business Leadership degree from the UNISA School of Business Leadership.
