“Silesh has just over 25 years of experience and knowledge within the Energy business. In the last 20 years of his career he has contributed as both an industry specialist and at a management level within the Customer Retail environment within the electricity Distribution business. In addition to his professional qualifications including a MSc Electrical Engineering, he is also a Certified Energy Manager and Certified Energy Auditor with the Association of Energy Engineers.
Silesh’s experience also includes 2 years as a Systems Engineer in the Eskom Generation business. His career in Eskom Distribution (i.e. Customer Services Business) commenced in 1995 with his roles that spanning from Energy Advisor, Sales/Energy Specialist, Sales/Energy Services Manager, Sales & Marketing Operations Manager and currently leading the New Business Development Unit. The aforementioned roles facilitated his development, knowledge and skills required in areas that included Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management, Project Management, Customer & Stakeholder Relationship Management, Marketing, and Leadership. In his current role he is involved in developing of a commercially viable framework to manage Distributed Energy Resources that includes Small Scale Embedded Generators and microgrids in addition to developing other new revenue streams in an evolving energy market.
