Senior Social Performance Manager, bte renewables
Celiwe Mabaso is a seasoned communications and sustainability professional with a specialisation in community development and impact investment. Currently working as the Senior social performance manager for BTE Renewables, she is responsible for leading the Social Performance team and leads the Social performance strategy design and implementation of BTE in South Africa. Celiwe has a proven track record in strategy design and program turn-around strategies assisting business transition their Social impact programs from once-off sponsorship type initiatives to long-term sustainable community investment programs. Prior to her role at BTE she’s held similar roles at EIMS Africa and General Electric (GE) where she served as Community Operations Manager and CSR Leader for South Africa respectively.
Celiwe is passionate about the development of youth in township, rural and remote communities having worked in the communities of the North West, Saldanha bay most recently Northern and Eastern Cape province. Her approach to community development is centred around co-creation allowing communities to part own the interventions to ensure buy-in and long term sustainability. investment/development space since 2016 Celiwe has a proven track record of long term program
In 2022 Celiwe was acknowledged for her contributions to community development in the Renewable energy space and received the SAWEA Bright Spark award which recognises the contributions on future leaders in the Sector. In 2021 she was par of the Mail & Guardian 200 Youth South Africans.
Celiwe holds Bcom Marketing Management degree from Midrand Graduate Institute, a Diploma in Project Management from Varsity college, she completed a the Program in Management Development with GIBS businesses school .
