Khetsiwe Dlamini-Mtiyane

Acting Energy Manager

Shirley Salvoldi

My career spans over 13 years in the private and public sector in the finance and regulatory environment. The key areas of my experience over the years are; Portfolio Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Management, Strategic Projects, Policy Development and Analysis, Financial Management, Sector event planning and delivery, Sector strategic planning and implementation.

My passion for sustainable economic development in South Africa and in Africa has guided my career towards serving in the public space. Sustainable economic development will be achieved through sustained investments in clean and reliable energy, manufacturing as well as good governance. My areas of interest are: investments in energy efficient infrastructure development and innovation to drive South Africa’s Just Transition, impact of rising energy costs, climate change, good governance as well as African political economy.

As an Acting Personal Banker in Absa Private Bank, I was involved in portfolio management to ensure comprehensive niche banking experience for clients through management of multiple stakeholders within the entire products coverage. As an Energy Specialist in the Energy and Water SETA, I have led the Energy Sector strategic planning and implementation as well as strategic projects to ensure that the SETA  responds to government policy and plans for the Just Transition that takes into consideration climate change, National Development Plan, UN Sustainable Development Goals and Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan.

Being in the public sector since 2016 has highlighted the need for multiple stakeholder partnerships to ensure impactful interventions that seek to meaningfully respond to access to clean and reliable energy, reduce unemployment and increase enterprise development in particular for women, youth and persons with disability.
