Joubert Roux, Executive Chairman of Zero Carbon Charge and Zero Carbon Logistics, is a seasoned entrepreneur passionate about changing the future of mobility through renewable energy and carbon emission reduction - to actively fight climate change through tangible and proactive measures. Joubert was born and bred in Vredendal, Western Cape, and has a background in construction, transportation, renewable energy and agriculture. He successfully developed a network of service stations and car dealerships across the Southern, Western, and Northern Cape over the past three decades, while actively contributing to renewable energy projects for the REIPP programme on wind and solar initiatives since 2011. Additionally, Joubert is originally a passionate farmer, having farming interests in the Western Cape, and has played a crucial role in establishing micro-vineyards and boutique wineries, empowering previously disadvantaged communities. Notably, Joubert is also the founder of 1st Principles Distillery, a solar-powered distillery—one of the few of its kind in South Africa
