Energy Analyst at GreenCape

Sithobile-Khoza

I am a Master of Commerce in Economics (Research) graduate and a dynamic professional with over four years of expertise as an economist, researcher, and analyst in energy, manufacturing, and trade policy.

Currently, I am an Energy Analyst at GreenCape, focusing on export markets, trade agreements, and local component manufacturing within the renewable energy and sustainable mobility sectors. My work supports green component manufacturers by exploring market opportunities, fostering trade efficiency, and contributing to policy development that drives sustainable industrial growth.

Previously, as a Power & Renewables Analyst at BMI, I developed 10-year power market forecasts for over 15 Sub-Saharan African countries, with a strong focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). I provided strategic insights, analysed emerging energy trends, and authored comprehensive reports for stakeholders.

At Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa, I contributed to legislative and trade policy support as a Graduate Trainee in Government Affairs. My key projects included the Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone and the Electric Vehicle Working Group, alongside facilitating partnerships and monitoring legislative developments.

Earlier in my career, as a Research Assistant (Economist) at NERSA, I conducted Regulatory Impact Assessments (RIA), benchmarked regulatory performance, and advised on energy policy.

With a passion for sustainable and renewable energy solutions, I excel in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and innovative problem-solving. I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the fields of energy and economic development while supporting a just energy transition.
