Thabo Molekoa holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA, and a Certificate in Corporate Governance.

Effective in 2020, Mr Molekoa was appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of Siemens Energy Southern and Eastern Africa.

Prior to joining Siemens Energy, he was the Sub-Saharan Africa CEO at Thyssenkrupp for 4 years. He has more than 22 years’ professional experience in over 40 African countries at organizations including DuPont, Saint-Gobain, and De Beers Diamond Mines. His responsibilities and expertise covers technical projects and industrial maintenance (including mining & cement equipment, plant construction, automotive sector, elevator sector and submarines), to leading organizations and teams on growth strategies and tactics. Recognized in 2017 as one of Africa’s Captains of Construction and Infrastructure.

He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Southern African – German Chamber of Commerce and Industry,

and was previously on the EU Business Chamber board. In May 2024, he was announced as a member of South Africa's Member Committee of the UN-accredited World Energy Council.

Recently nominated on the Co-Chair of the Energy Council JET & Industrialisation Standing Committee.

Thabo’s conviction is that a climate-neutral energy society is not only technologically feasible, but also socio-economically worthwhile.
